New Product Integration

Streamline Pro Cybersecurity Device

Project Lifecycle Management | SoW | Global Supply Chain

October 2023 – July 2024

Project Scope and Background

  • Define Scope of Work for turn-key external cyber security device.

  • Define design requirements, legal compliance, supplier audit.

  • Create new product range and BoM.

  • Lead a PLCM process with global stakeholders.

  • Support testing and validations across all printing platforms.

  • Create a unique costumer support process.

Process

This product was intended to be a cross-platform bundled cyber protection device and software, implemented simultaneously on all of Stratasys’ printers globally.

As the NPI manager of this project, I was first tasked with creation of a new product range and global supply chain, deployed in manufacturing sites in US, Europe, eastern Asia and the Middle East.

The supplier contracted to develop the bundle was a cyber security start-up company, with limited knowledge and experience in product design, logistics, legal compliance and more.

This required an extensive audit process, covering all areas of product introduction- from packaging to connectivity and through to electromagnetic emission certification testing.

I took ownership of the Alpha testing phase, covering all verification testing required for a new product release, coordinated between three R&D sites globally.

I’ve led Product Gates 2 to 4 in the PLCM stage gate process, from Initial Feasibility to Pre-Production Approval, and supported the process as the Product’s owner afterwards.

I’ve created the product’s service plan, spare part list and coordinated operational requirements ahead of production release.

Along with Product department, I’ve defined the mechanical requirements for the device, amongst which were:

  • Physical design, color and labeling.

  • Connection method and cabling specifications

  • unified mounting method, compatible with all printer range.

  • Packaging design

  • Kit contents

And together with Compliance, I’ve defined requirements for all aspects of standards compliance to the bundle’s components, such as RoHs, REACH, EMC and others.

Outcome

The Bundle was released to production on time.

This was my first opportunity to manage a project in a global corporate environment, and what a learning experience it was!

I delivered status updates and results to directorial and VP level, and coordinated between various departments and R&D centers that were previously not interacting.

And furthermore, I’ve led this project while working on my studies, assignments, presentations and exam periods.

For this project’s successful results, I received an “Exceeding Expectations Recognition” reward.

See this acknowledgment and recommendation letter from the program’s manager for further context.
